U.S. Mission Celebrates Safe Return of American Citizen in Eastern Cape

The U.S. Mission in South Africa extends heartfelt gratitude to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for their assistance in finding and freeing an American citizen who had been abducted in the Eastern Cape on April 15.

We commend the swift, coordinated SAPS response, led by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (the Hawks), in collaboration with the Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, Anti-Gang Unit, Crime Intelligence, Tactical Response Team, and other partners. We are grateful for their cooperation with the U.S. Mission.

The U.S. Mission continues to be dedicated to working alongside South African partners to ensure the safety and security of American citizens.
