Passenger Bites Flight Attendant, Removed Mid-Flight in South Africa

Here is the startling scene where authorities made a disturbed passenger leave the aircraft after they had bitten a crew member.

An unknown male passenger apparently had an altercation with a flight attendant soon after getting on board a plane yesterday.

The reports indicated that he declined to take a seat and was upsetting other travelers by not paying attention to the crew members.

He proceeded to launch a brutal assault on an unsuspecting flight attendant by biting them until he was finally subdued.

In the video, officials could be observed strolling down the aisle and gripping the man by his arms and legs as they led him away from the aircraft.

It is reported that the captain contacted the police present at the airport in Sapporo. Japan .

He informed the passengers that the aircraft would remain stationary until assistance was provided by the Japanese Air Police.

The event caused the aircraft to be delayed for nearly three hours.

It was initially scheduled to take off at 4.25pm from Sapporo, but did not depart until 7.30pm.

It was scheduled to get to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, in Taiwan.

It is not known if the man was arrested upon being removed from the flight.

The dramatic episode mirrors a similar occurrence last year when an intoxicated American passenger bit a cabinet attendant's arm.

The man was 'heavily drunk' when he did so, according to an ANA airlines spokesman.

It forced the US-bound flight to return to Tokyo.

The Sapporo incident is not the first example of unruly passengers causing chaos on flights in recent weeks, either.

Ryanair cabin crew were recently forced to strap down one fluer with extra seat belts after he caused chaos by refusing to take his seat while the plane was landing, witnesses claim.

The agitated passenger aboard the flight from Manchester to Rhodes on April 3 apparently became upset when the cabin crew took away two bottles of liquor from him.

He reportedly managed to escape his bonds, prompting the pilot to abort the plane’s approach to Rhodes, execute an aerial loop, and subsequently try landing again.

Upon touchdown, Rhodes police boarded the aircraft to haul away the troublemaker.

A spokesperson for Ryanair said: 'The crew of this flight from Manchester to Rhodes on April 3 called ahead for police assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard. The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Rhodes Airport and this passenger was removed.

'Ryanair has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behavior, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a safe and respectful environment, without unnecessary disruption. This is a matter for local police.'
