On Thursday, President Ramaphosa issued a statement extending his warmest wishes for the Easter holiday to South Africa’s various Christian communities, along with good tidings to those who see this time primarily as an opportunity for relaxation and social interaction.
Easter is a significant time for devout Christians to commemorate their beliefs and the victory of life over death, and it provides South Africans from various walks of life the chance to relax and reconnect with loved ones.
Steer clear of having to hurry
President Ramaphosa appealed to citizens to look after themselves and others both on the streets and during social gatherings.
As we travel throughout our magnificent country, let’s slow down, fasten our seatbelts, take breaks, and avoid using our phones while driving.
Let's ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and prevent the urgency of rushing by departing from home or work early enough.
This will enable us to remain patient with other road users and appreciate the splendor of our landscapes. It should also serve as a time for nurturing care and fostering peace within our homes and communities.
