TV News Anchor Aldrin Sampear Involved in Road Rage Incident—Caught on Camera!

Aldrin Sampear, a TV journalist and prominent anchor at Newzroom Afrika, found himself at the centre of a road rage spat that was captured on a video making rounds on social media.

The event, which unfolded on Thursday on the busy streets of Randburg, Gauteng, was captured by a 20-year-old Laricia Augusto, who claims that Sampear was aggressive during an exchange after a minor collision between their vehicles .

In a detailed report, Augusto told The Citizen that a taxi suddenly stopped in front of her and she indicated and moved to the right lane.

She said as she was changing lanes in front of the former SABC news anchor, he started to accelerate.

“He practically glued himself to my bumper, hooting aggressively. I had no idea what his issue was, but to avoid any drama, I moved back into the left lane to let him pass. That’s when things turned nasty,'' Augusto told the publication.

Augusto explained how Sampear suddenly veered in front of her vehicle, causing her to collide with his back wheel.

After the crash, both vehicles stopped, and the argument escalated intensely. She alleged that Sampeer was yelling as they approached her.

"He was yelling at me. I attempted to justify my actions by explaining that his behavior constituted clear-cut road rage. Furthermore, I mentioned that there was ample room for him to drive safely," she reportedly stated.

In the video, Sampear kept asking the woman about why she showed him the middle finger.

In reply, Augusto, sounding clearly distressed, questions why he struck her.

"Why did you flip me off, are you angry?" Sampear went on asking furiously.

They argue continuously until Sampere gets back into his vehicle, with Augusto following him and insisting he won’t leave.

He responded, 'I’m staying put.'

Talking to IOL, Sampear acknowledged his involvement in a small collision on Thursday evening.

As per Samperry, the incident occurred afterwards A driver attempted to move in front of him as the taxi in front came to a stop.

"When our vehicle came to a stop, there was verbal exchanges between us all. It terrifies me to view a modified clip of these events since I walked over to my automobile to retrieve my mobile phone and identification card for the other driver’s reference. Throughout the entire incident, I never physically attacked him. We traded contact information. The situation has been brought to the attention of law enforcement officials, and they along with my legal advisors will address this issue accurately and truthfully,” he stated.

In the meantime, the Citizen reported that Augusto has filed assault charges against Sampear.
