Gregg Popovich rushed to hospital after suffering medical emergency at restaurant

San Antonio Spurs Head coach Gregg Popovich was taken to the hospital on Tuesday evening following a health crisis at a steakhouse in the city.

Concerning video has surfaced through TMZ of the 76-year-old, who was taken ill earlier this year, on a stretcher being placed into an ambulance after fainting.

Popovich suffered a stroke in early November and has taken an indefinite break from coaching his team; he clarified in February that he won’t be returning to lead them for the rest of the season.

However, his long-term prospects have become even more uncertain following his recent health issue.

According to TMZ, Popovich is continuing his recovery following a stroke in November. It has been reported that he appeared lucid and communicative when he was loaded into an ambulance on Tuesday evening. Apparently, he had spent approximately two hours at the restaurant prior to this incident.

The Spurs, who failed to qualify for the NBA The playoffs beginning on Saturday haven't made any statements about the incident yet.

Popovich, boasting more victories than any other mentor in NBA history, guided Team USA to an Olympic gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo games.

He's won the NBA championship five times with the Spurs and has led as their head coach since 1996.
