Easter Comes Early for Animals at UK’s Whipsnade Zoo

Easter has come sooner than expected for the creatures at Whipsnade Zoo in the UK, as caretakers have presented the penguins, lemurs, and ferrets with an array of delectable goodies.

At Whipsnade Zoo, the colony of threatened European rockhopper penguins participated in an Easter-themed activity where they searched for fish concealed inside brightly colored cardboard eggs.

In the meantime, the zoo’s seven endangered ring-tailed lemurs were occupied with rummaging through rabbit-shaped puzzle feeders filled with their preferred morning meal of corn.

Whipsnade Zoo forms part of the Zoological Society of London, which is a scientifically oriented charitable organization dedicated to revitalizing wildlife populations both within the UK and across the globe.
