Driver Crashes Into Woman Before Plunging into Busy Harbour: Fears Grow for Victim's Safety

A significant rescue mission is currently taking place following an incident where a vehicle struck a pedestrian and then crashed into the water. Sydney Harbour.

Emergency responders were summoned to Manns Point in Greenwich, located on Sydney’s lower north shore, around 4:15 pm on Monday following an incident where a vehicle sped through a parking area, hit a woman who was standing at the riverside, and then crashed into the water.

A passerby came to her aid; they contacted emergency services for help.

She was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital with a possible fractured ankle, along with visible bruising, scrapes, and signs of shock.

The officers continue to stay at the location, receiving support from both the Water Police and the Dive Unit who have arrived onsite.

The car has not been found, and the person driving it hasn’t been accounted for either.
