
A British lady is battling for her survival following an accident on the Spanish island of Menorca.
The 59-year-old individual was extracted from their damaged vehicle by firefighters after a three-car collision occurred around 10:30 am yesterday.
She was taken into the intensive care unit at Mateu Orfila Hospital located in Mahon, which is the main city of the island. An additional British person traveling in the same vehicle was also injured.
According to local reports, out of the three vehicles involved, one was being operated by a 21-year-old Spanish individual who was likewise seriously hurt.
It is thought that he veered off onto the incorrect part of the ME-1 road close to Alaior while making his way towards Mahon.
The two females, aged 19 and 29, were also admitted to the medical facility.
Images from the accident site revealed the twisted remains of two of the vehicles involved.
The Civil Guard traffic officials have initiated an inquiry and will present their findings to a nearby courthouse.

A representative from the ambulance service verified the seriousness of the accident, stating: “There were three vehicles involved, resulting in injuries for five individuals.”

Last September, a British father and his two boys sustained injuries in a fatal head-on collision in Menorca.
The group was traveling in a taxi when they crashed into a rental vehicle containing a woman who passed away.
A young Briton, who is 20 years old, sustained severe head trauma and was treated at the location before being moved to Mateu Orfila Hospital.
A 24-year-old, referred to as his sibling, was also severely injured, sustaining numerous wounds along with a fractured leg.
The 46-year-old father and the taxi driver were injured as well, though their injuries weren't serious.
The victim who died was a 72-year-old woman. Argentinian nationals who were front-seat passengers in the hired Kia Stonic that crashed into the taxi.
His 64-year-old spouse, who was at the wheel, sustained severe injuries to his chest.
The disaster occurred close to the charming inland town of Ferreries, which is among the most beautiful on the island, along the route connecting Mahon and Ciutadellla.
